Since 1997 I have provided technical consulting and support for small and medium businesses. I have extensive experience with server installations, desktop support, network design, wiring and general systems administration. Since 2003 I have worked for SoftLayer (formerly known as The Planet) in the role of Sr. Sales Engineer.

Here is my resume should you be interested.

Data safety begins with understanding.

(1.) There is a gap between the technology manufacturers and end users. That gap is high quality technical support. Have you ever had to call the help desk when the manual was of no use? All too often, once you finally get a support person, they don't understand your problem, and the "solution" they offer ends up doing more harm than good.

(2.) Business owners rarely have documentation of their network systems. They have been left in the dark after the consultants who set up the system left.

(3.) Data backups are rarely performed; and when performed, rarely tested. If data is worth putting on a computer to begin with, then it is certainly worth protecting! No computer network is complete without a practical plan for data backup and disaster recovery.

(4.) Data protection is more than just making backups. It's a continous cycle of reviewing the process and staying on to p of changing requirements.
